The Beatles

Everyone knows who the Beatles are, but there are people who do not know their music. Although, I do not believe there is someone in the world who has not heard their music, those people have at least heard about the band or are familiar with the name. The Beatles were adored by the world in the 60's and 70's, and even today their music is loved by millions of people. The Beatles were a British Rock band. The Beatles were formed by John Winston Lennon, James Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and “Richard Starkey” also known as Ringo Starr. The Beatles consisted of four Liverpool born musicians. The Beatles, who revolutionized popular music around the world, were at the forefront of a movement in rock music known as the “British Invasion”. Also, the British Invasion was a name referring to the tremendous effect that British rock-and-roll bands had in the United States during the 1960's. Between the years 1960 to 1970 the Beatles achieved unique popularity with over 30 songs reaching the Billboard magazine top-ten popular music charts. The Beatles created a unique and varied music that fans continue to enjoy and bands continue to model, even today. Then, sadly the band members all went their own way, the group split up in 1970. They all had successful musical careers after that. In 1980 John Lennon was shot and killed, everyone was shocked and it was a big loss that day. After, 21 years later a second member left this world, George Harrison dies of lung Cancer in November 2001. Today, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney are the last two living ex-members of the Beatles. Although, the Beatles are no longer a band, their music lives on in their stead. I personally believe that their music will continue to entertain and enlighten future generations to come. The Beatles touched the world, and their music will always be immortal.
